Who's Jeff Montoya?

From Catholic World News:

How likely would it be for Jeff Montoya, a Milwaukee Catholic layman, to be:

a) A parish youth minister?
b) Pictured with Archbishop Dolan (and kids) at World Youth Day?
c) A gay apologist and national board member of Dignity?
d) A campus minister and "diversity director" for a Franciscan college?
e) A Ratzinger trasher ("he has a tarnished record of opposing gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Catholics")?
f) A vocation director for the Pallottine religious order?
g) All of the above?

You rotten cynics already KNOW the answer, or you can go to the link above...

  3. You should be ashamed of yourself. It is not your place to pass judgement on anyone. Instead you should examine your own sins and let God worry about everyone else.

1 "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? " Romans 2:1-4

  4. Who Judged Whom?

All I did was lay out the facts.

By the way--"Dignity" does not express the Roman Catholic moral teaching on homosexuality.

  5. If you presented the facts, you forgot to mention Jeff is a truely fine person and a very well qualified youth minister, with an incredible devotion to his job. As someone who has watched Jeff work, I can tell you he is one of the finest ministry people out there and you could only wish you could benefit from his knowledge and faith. I don't think his involvement in an organization devoted to faith and God, should be a benchmark for you or anyone else to judge. I would hate to see some of the organizations, you and people with like mind sets belong to.

  6. OK, he's a fine person.

Being a Member of the Board of Dignity USA tells me that he is eminently UN-qualified to "teach" the Catholic faith, ipso facto. I would level the same objective judgment at a member of the Board of Planned Parenthood, by the way.

You evidently know what Boards I serve on, eh? And what memberships I hold, eh?

You are truly gifted! Knowledge! Wow!

  7. It's paranoid self righteous people like yourself that scare me. I bet if you researched your own faith a little better, you would find a lot of enlightenment. The history of the catholic church is a continuum of change and evolution.

All I can say, is thanks be to God I am Lutheran. I will wave to you from heaven while you wait it out in Catholic Purgatory. I have a feeling you will need a lot of Grace to move on.

  8. Anonymous Lutheran, SOME things in the Church will never change--like the prohibition of homosexual, ah, relations.

Happy to know that you've achieved sainthood. Pray for me.

  9. Well then by your accord, let's toss out all divorced members, recovering addicts, those who have had premarital sex, people who use birth control, any people who believe in pro-choice, people who believe in women's ordination... basically anything that would be presented at a Call to Action conference or anything that would be considered a result of Vatican 2... all these people are unfit for Catholic Ministry! In my opinion you are left with a very small group of unhappy men with a lot of personal sexual frustration????

  10. Dear, dear...

Were you to actually KNOW the teachings of the Church and to understand that VatII is part of a continuum, not a "declaration of rebellion" as was Luther's Theses posting-event, you would know how ridiculously foolish your response looks.

But your claims to omniscience grow at the same rate as your ignorance is displayed in these posts.

Is this what Chesterton would call a paradox?

  11. You are an idiot!!! And your beliefs are medieval. I noticed you work as an independent consultant, which in my professional oppinion means unemployed and looking for work. Maybe you should spend more time looking for work and less time trying to degrade the good work being done by those who have a job and do it well!

  12. I think that the era of civil discourse is now over, sweets!

    Go--decorate someone's dining room!

  13. I must have hit a nerve! I do decorate, but only in my spare time... I have a real job, not an "independent consultant"! I noticed you have called me sweets and dear??? Do you have an undisclosed sexual preference? You are really starting to sound queer to me!!

  14. Altogether, your insecurity problem is now glowing chartreuse.

You give yourself far too much credit...

And you have no courage, Anony-one.

BTW, does your "real" employer know that you're running an open window to this blogspot for half the business day?

  15. My employer, knowing I am having dialogue with a narrow minded self righteous ass like yourself would probably give me a raise.

I have plenty of courage, but I would not have my name associated with views you seem to prepresent.

I do give myself credit, at least I can be proud of who I am. I do not have to hide behind ideologies that blind the view of reality and real life society.

Your views seem to represent those of shame and resentment and it has been my experience people with your views usually have more to hide than to share.

  16. "I have plenty of courage...."

    Here's an idea:

Start a new movement: Anonymity Pride!! You can have your own week at Disney World--a weekend at the Summerfest Grounds...

Get out those shiny pumps and fishnets--it's time to put up the posters! Crank up the Judy Garland on the ipod.

    Go to it, sweetie-pops.

  17. All of this banter is way to funny. It certainly makes me giggle. You all need to band together and create a Catholic sitcom for TV. You are wasting your efforts here. You may as well make some quick cash while flinging mud at each other. This is hilarious!
