Landmark Legal is going to take a look at all the cards in WEAC's deck.
The complaint will accuse WEAC of violating the law by using tax-exempt dues on political matters. The action is part of the group's so-called "accountability project" for teachers unions. As part of the project, Landmark Legal has also filed complaints against state unions in California and Florida.
A spokesman for the group, which is funded by a variety of conservative foundations, including the Bradley Foundation of Milwaukee, declined to elaborate on the IRS complaint, except to say it will be filed early this year.
We can't wait.
