SB331 Still Awaits Co-Sponsors

SB 331 would rescind the "automatic tax increase" slammed into Wisconsin taxpayers' (deleted) every year--the tax increase on gasoline which is favored by Legislators because THEY NEVER VOTE ON IT.

Here are the current cosponsors: Senators Reynolds, Zien, Grothman, Lazich and Leibham; cosponsored by Representatives Wood, F. Lasee, Gundrum, Jeskewitz, Kerkman, Kestell, Lothian, McCormick, Pridemore, Kreibich, and Vukmir.

MISSING: Senator Kanavas, who states that he 'opposes' the automatic increase.

We already know that Rep. Jensen will NOT sign on as a co-sponsor until he knows without a doubt that this bill is dead meat. Rep. Jensen tells us that "we have to be able to PLAN on pissing away taxpayer money"--well, that's not really a direct quote, but it's ludicrous no matter how you phrase it.

  1. How do you propose Wisconsin maintain its roads? Obviously we are going to have higher expeditures than everyone else, because we subsidize half of Illinois living here on weekends. Personally, I think the tax should be lowered, and the state should have a private toll authority. If I were to speculate, you would probably complain about tolls then. It is easy to criticize. Coming up with solutions is difficult.

Please note that stopping the AUTOMATIC increase is NOT THE SAME as deleting the tax altogether.

What I want from the Overseers is ACCOUNTABILITY.

    Thanks for your comment.
