Seems that the See BS teevee folks didn't learn much from the Dan Rather Experience.
Now they're running straw-buys of weapons.
The gun store where a CBS News employee purchased a gun for a segment
that aired yesterday on “CBS This Morning” has filed a report with the
Virginia State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and
Explosives over concerns the purchase was unlawful....
Naturally, BATF is going sideways on the complaint.
...“ATF is aware of the story, however, the details and the outcome of the
sale in question is unclear and it is not evident if a violation
occurred,” Corey Ray, ATF spokesperson, told the Washington Free Beacon....
Uhhmmnnnhhhh, no. It's a criminal violation ipso facto, not dependent on circumstances or results. Just like Hildebeeste's national security violations, merely doing the deed is criminal; no mens rea required.
