The Plan: Chaos and Terrorism

Obozo announced today that the Feds cannot pay the veterans nor Social Security if the debt deal ain't done.

The plan has always been to create chaos and to terrorize some parts of this society.

  1. The Feds CANNOT pay the veterans nor social security if the debt ceiling isn't raised. This isn't a political statement. It's a true statement.

  2. I dunno - how 'bout not paying for the Dept of Ag, Dept of Ed (it is summer you know), Dept of Energy, Institute of Peace, etc., etc., etc.,

There are plently of things to not pay for that few, outside of the employees themselves would notice. But that would defeat the purpose of trying to extort the rest of us for even more of our money.

  3. BULLSHIT, Struppster.

There's plenty of money available for interest on the debt AND all the ongoing obligations.

Especially if NeoMom's wishes become fact.

  4. After looking at the latest trade deficit numbers you can add the Dept of Commerce to that list of what not to pay as well.

    Still not enough. Keep going.

"There's plenty of money available for interest on the debt AND all the ongoing obligations."

The government takes in about $177 billion/month.

Interest on public debt costs about $19 billion/month. Average monthly spending (minus interest)is approx. $275 billion/month.

Do the math (math seems to be a difficult subject in the combox of this blog).

Guess what? Old people and Veterans are still going to get the shaft even IF you only pay the interst on our debt.

And BTW, your buddy Turbo Timmy is the one picking and choosing who gets paid what if the dummies in the GOP congress keep on like this.

  6. I call absolute BS, Strupp and you know it.

Veterans and seniors? Really? There's absolutely nothing else they can cut but they won't pay them?

    Department of Education - gone.
    Department of Agriculture - gone.
    Department of Energy - gone.

    Funding the UN. Gone.

Don't pee on my head and tell me it's raining.

This is vindictive and petty. But not unexpected from Obama, who runs this country like a petulant child with a chip on his shoulder. It's also going to backfire and I will laugh. Seniors make up the most regular voting block and you really think Obama's going to get their votes after holding them hostage?

When he's out in 2013, drinks are on me.

...provided you have anything left to pay for 'em. I'll raise a glass over here in Michigan.

  8. Ah yes - thanks for the reminder on the UN Amy. We can also add the IMF. It makes no sense to borrow money so that we can send it to Greece to bail out their irresponsible and profligate spending.

There are so many places to cut spending that one can hardly list them all - it is a target-rich environment.

But as Dad mentions above - Obama would rather shoot his hostages.

    Nice.

  9. Sure let's dissolve all of the above on August 1 and on August 2 apply their entire budgets to debt service, defense and Medicare.

"Obozo announced today that the Feds cannot pay the veterans nor Social Security"

Your lede is false. He announced no such thing. He said he couldn't guarantee those payments.

  10. Obozo was in hostage-shooting mode, typical of his ideological imperative.

As Goldman showed, there's plenty of money to pay SocSec (et al) plus interest on the debt.
