Iran Still Firing for Effect

We were told that we have won this war.

Iran is launching sea drones against oil tankers

At least three oil tanker ships have been struck by Iran in the Gulf overnight, one off the coast of the UAE and two off Basra, Iraq. We have some images of one of the strikes in Iraq and they are very dramatic, with a huge fireball filling the air....

A China-owned tanker was also hit, as was one owned by Greeks.

This cannot be.

We have won this war, remember?  Iran is almost out of missiles, rockets, and drones, remember?  The US Navy is going to protect tankers, remember?  And the US TAXPAYER will be serving as the insurer, remember?  Their nukes program is obliterated, remember?

“Well, it’s both [an excursion and a war]… An excursion will keep us out of a war, and the war is going to be – for them it’s a war. For us it’s turned out to be easier than we thought,” Trump said

Was Trump played by some foreign country?  A tiny POS country which wants Iran turned into rubble, just like it wants Lebanon turned into rubble, sorta like Gaza?

And all their families, cattle, and farms, too.....

  3. ….Frankly Israel deserves a lot more credit than anyone, if this holds. Credit is due chiefly to their decapitation massacre of the Iranian regime, their secret drone base that took out many air defenses, their airstrikes that cleaned up the rest, their assassination program that proved so intimidating. Of course it was chiefly their fight, so it's perfectly fitting that they did the heavy lifting. Still, they deserve credit for carrying that weight and for doing so effectively…..

    1. It appears that you've posted sarcasm.

  4. Iran is being degraded rapidly, but who in their right mind thinks that Iran would ever be completely Winchester in 14 days? Eventually when all the Iranians have left are rocks... they'll throw rocks. Until then the targeting priorities will continue to work their way down the threat potential checklist. Iran is going to do some damage here and there as they work their way down to throwing those rocks. Thinking otherwise is foolish.

Tracking and killing small ASVs is certainly on the list somewhere, but not near the top. Not an easy task, but doable once greater threats have been removed and unchallenged air superiority over water is a given. Not a "coalition" task, by the way.

A few burning tankers highlights the issue of shadow fleet tanker owners bypassing international sanctions by using flag manipulation. There are literally hundreds of these modern-day pirate ships. Sure, we can attempt to insure and protect legitimate shipping. The key there is legitimate shipping. Trump has a unique opportunity here to permanently cripple this pirate tanker fleet by at least temporarily taking control of the Strait of Hormuz, controlling the volume of its use, and thereby forcing other nations to agree to abandon much of the current piracy model. They won't like it, but these days nothing speaks louder than oil money.

    1. The US Navy has expressed reluctance at becoming escorts in the strait. Commanders don't like to put their troops into suicide missions.

Further, your yapping about "piracy" has NOTHING to do with the fact that three ships were sunk by Iranian forces.

  5. Our Permanent Government: Excellent use of violence!

Temporary Trump: Thank you, but should I feel bad about killing those young girls?

Our Permanent Government: There is no foul play in our rules of fair play.

Temporary Trump: Good. I'll go find someone and give them a medal.

  6. Our Permanent Government: Think about invoking the Zelensky option.

Temporary Trump: Understood. Wait… call off the midterm elections?

Our Permanent Government: Times of crisis require fearless leadership.

Temporary Trump: Understood. Martial law for Maximum MAGA.

  7. Dad29. The US markets just closed. Is that serious enough? Seriously, I have read your postings for going on 21 years. From back when Marquette Warrior was alive and writing. When Boots and Sabers held out hope for morale to improve. When Sykes still had a mustard seed of common sense. This has never been a conversation blog like Instapundit or Moon of Alabama or Zero Hedge. I don't think it is an insult to state that you have never encouraged comments.

Rush Limbaugh was a master at using humor to highlight hypocrisy and while I acknowledge that my human lack of total knowledge keeps me in the idiot end of the omniscience spectrum, I can't help seeing a great deal of hypocrisy in the actions of our non-elected government.

So maybe a comment about potential martial law to preempt elections is to far fetched to joke about, however, prior to 2020 I never would believe the COVID tyranny could happen in our country. We are lucky that vaccine passports didn't take hold, but the desire is still out there in the minds of control freaks.

So I apologize if my attempts at sarcasm felt like an insult. You do a good job. - Idiot41

  8. Well, thanks for reading! My hackles rose when you suggested that Trump may go with dictatorship. That is NOT impossible, but it's pretty far out on the edge. Trump knows that we have a lot of guns--and since he has expended nearly all the ammo in US magazines in Biden's and Netanyahu's wars........well.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,

  9. Yes, Trump is owned by Israel and by the Deep State. Why doesn’t Dad29 admit to it and trumpet America First without Trump is beyond the pale.

  10. Missile strike killing over 150 children at Iran school caused by outdated intel: report

    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/missile-strike-killing-over-150-children-at-iran-school-caused-by-outdated-intel-report/

……Despite President Donald Trump attempting to blame the massacre on Iran, preliminary results of a DOD investigation found US missiles struck a school located in a former military building…….

See video of Trump and Hegseth at link

  11. There's another way to look at that by asking this: Why did the Iranians leave those children in a school within a military compound during a war?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You mean the situation arose because the facility was adjacent to a naval base belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). That is, it had been formally separated from the active military grounds years prior.

So the children were in attendance because the building was in active use as a girls' primary school, not an active military facility, at the time of their liquidation by Hegseth and Trump at the behest of Israel.

  12. Yes

You are right about the Iranian placement of the school.

We should not be in this war
This is Israel’s war, not our war

We need to remove all the IDF forces from the Pentagon and get them the hell out of Washington DC

  13. Anony 5:18----have you looked at the surveillance picture of the compound?

So you claim that the facility was NOT IN SERVICE to the military.....since....when?

Obviously, if the US screwed up here, this is horrific.
