What's the Matter With Summerfest?

The Nattering Nabob Nancies are scratching their little heads about this.

After canceling for the first time in its 53-year-history, Summerfest has returned, albeit with noticeably thinner crowds, according to several vendors and patrons....

After anecdotal testimony from vendors and visitors that 'the numbers are way off,' the article mentions that the 2019 numbers were also small compared to the previous 30 years.

If you want to raise your eyebrows, check out the comment from Smiley, the CEO:

..."If attendance is a little lower this year because of all the factors involved, so be it," Summerfest CEO Don Smiley told the Journal Sentinel in an earlier interview. ...

Oh.  Well, at least Smiley isn't scratching his head over it.  Frankly, my dear, he doesn't give a damn.

This is not too hard to figure out.

All the kiddies are back in school.  That means high-school and college.  Summerfest crowds always had a large number of kiddies.  They're not there.

For the same reason (school days), tourists from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, and Indiana are not driving up here.  They were never a huge attendance boost, but they were visible.  And who wants to drive here for only a 1- or 2- day visit?

No cash taken on the grounds.

"Vaccine" passes required, along with Voter ID.

Biden* economy is tanking, groceries and gas cost a helluvalot more, let's keep the money for something important.

Fear of COVIDOOMDEATH!!!

One wonders what Smiley & Co. projected for attendance vs. what they actually get.  THAT will be the news.
