Will Gives Up on the Constitution (?)

George Will (and Ed Morrissey) agree:  the Constitutionalist Right has lost, and may be headed for extinction.

Thus, Trump.

We disagree, as will Mark Levin.  The ConRight may have lost a battle, but the war is far from over.  The Will/Morrissey analysis is correct in positing that (R) voters expected a lot more from the Revolt of 2010--and therefore selected Trump.  But they conveniently forget that Trump 'won' with only about 35% of the primary votes, and that many of those votes came from what are traditional (D) voters.

That's a mandate?

It is far more likely that the ConRight lost because its arguments were from the negative rather than from the positive:  "We will stop Obozo" rather than offering "We will grant you freedom!"

One more thing:  the Ruling Class Left-and-"Right" coalition did everything in its power to strangle the ConRight.  Life is very comfortable when the view is from DC and its surrounding suburbs, where all your neighbors and friends have a vested interest in keeping their income stream flowing.  People who rock that boat will be punished.

Think Trump will change all of that?  IF he tries, look at what happened to Cruz.  Or, if you prefer, look at what happened to the once-firebrand RoJo.

RoJo Fold-O, Grothman Accomplice

Once again, Sen. Ron Johnson did what he was told and voted "YEA" on a stopgap spending bill.

And that spending will end about December 9th, which means that the next spending bill will be voted on by lame ducks.

Nobody in their right mind wants lame ducks voting on anything important, folks.  But McConnell, greasy bastard that he is, is perfectly fine with it; he gave RoJo the orders, and.......oh, well.

By the way, the Self-Alleged "Conservative" Grothman also voted for this pig, doing what Ryan told him to do, I suppose.  It seems that Grothman's mouth is not the same place his votes are.  Just another Establishment lackey.  Too bad.

We credit Sensenbrenner!!  He voted NAY.

The Current Situation

Here's Pope Benedict a few years ago:

"If the moral principles underpinning the democratic process are themselves determined by nothing more solid than social consensus, then the fragility of the process becomes all too evident--herein lies the real challenge for democracy."  --quoted by Fr G Rutler

Another from Cdl. Wyszynski of Poland about 1953:

"We teach that it is proper to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.  But when Caesar sits himself upon the altar, we respond curtly:  he may not."

Rutler goes on:

When laws are legislated that invent as "rights" conduct contrary to natural law, power usurps truth.  So St. Thomas Aquinas said.

This is the current situation, and neither Clinton nor Trump will change it.  That 'fragile process' is sorely tested and may not persevere.  George Washington was right, ya'know; "....let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion."

He was right.  It cannot.  Thus the State moves into the vacuum and makes 'laws' as the State sees fit, supported by "justices" who know not what is true,  as Cdl. Wyszynski observed--and he was slapped into a Commie prison for that.

That's coming here, people.

The Sad Collapse of the FBI

PowerLine has a short video of Rep. Gowdy questioning Comey about the FBI's collapse on the Clinton email affair.

Watch it to the end, because at the end, Comey bleats a little puppy-dog whine after Gowdy rips him for his agency's massive fail.

It's likely your reaction will be the same as mine, and it was not polite.

Start Here, Read the Rest

Codevilla again:

...The overriding question of 2016 has been how eager the American people are to reject the bipartisan class that has ruled this country contrary to its majority’s convictions. Turned out, eager enough to throw out the baby with the dirty bathwater. The ruling class’s united front in response to the 2008 financial crisis had ignited the Tea Party’s call for adherence to the Constitution, and led to elections that gave control of both houses of Congress to the Republican Party. But as Republicans became full partners in the ruling class’s headlong rush in what most considered disastrous directions, Americans lost faith in the Constitution’s power to restrain the wrecking of their way of life....

That's the first "money" quote from a long-ish essay on the death of the American Republic.  As usual, Codevilla names names and points to events, including the Civil Rights Act of '64, which have served to topple the US' former order.

It is NOT co-incidence that small-arms sales have a near-straight-up trajectory in the last 8 years, folks.  Just make sure you have plenty of ammo to go with.

What Would the FEEBS Do If....

What would the FBI do if they showed up at your door demanding documents and you told them to pound sand?

Why yes!!  They'd just back off and grant you immunity.  Several times over several years.

IF, of course, you were a Hildebeeste flunky.

So next time the Feebs show up at your door, you know what to do.  Tell them that you're a Hillary Clinton flunky and demand your hall pass.

Screw the bastards.

Win10 Update: You're Screwed

MS pushed its Win10 "anniversary" update.  And you're screwed.

Evidently Gates & Co. need a few more bucks, because they've removed the free Solitaire.  Oh, yah, you can still find it--but you can't put it on your "Start" menu any more, and if you don't have some powerful anti-popup/anti-adware stuff you'll be drowning in advertisements.

Yes, MS has the right to piss off its purchasers.  And they did.

Debate Preview

Fitting and (likely) accurate.

...Monday’s debate will not reveal anything new about either of these candidates. Two New York liberals will take the stage to argue over which of them will be more efficient in extending the powers of the already bloated executive branch so that they can better enact their own agendas. Trump will bloviate and bluster his way through his usual campaign talking points, peppering in a few barbs about his opponent’s emails or her corrupt charitable organization, while Clinton will dutifully work her way down a list of antique, focus group-approved internet memes that are sure to finally engender her to all those millennial voters. It will be a true exercise in unremitting pointlessness that will cause myself and so many others to wonder yet again where our proud nation went so wrong to end up in such a lowly state of affairs. A charlatan and her donor. A snake oil salesman and his wedding guest. Which do you choose?...

Well, since I won't watch Monday Night Football either, I choose reruns of Law & Order with Jerry Orbach.

How Will RoJo Vote on This Crap?

McConnell has given Obozo everything he wants, and more.

The "more"?

Letting the lame ducks vote one more time, in December.

So let's see how RoJo votes, eh?

Are the Communists In Charlotte, Too?

It's STILL the most-underplayed news story of the Milwaukee riots:  that Ed Flynn said the riot leaders were "a bunch of Communists from Chicago."

A bunch of Communists.

So.  Are they in Charlotte, too?

(Thought you'd like that red.  Chuckle.)

The Summa on Immigration

Yah, "the Summa" is Catholic code for all sorts of non-PC stuff.  After all, the guy who wrote is is a dead white male straight.  So be warned.

...Saint Thomas affirms that not all immigrants are equal. Every nation has the right to decide which immigrants are beneficial, that is, “peaceful,” to the common good. As a matter of self-defense, the State can reject those criminal elements, traitors, enemies and others who it deems harmful or “hostile” to its citizens....

...Saint Thomas recognizes that there will be those who will want to stay and become citizens of the lands they visit. However, he sets as the first condition for acceptance a desire to integrate fully into what would today be considered the culture and life of the nation.

A second condition is that the granting of citizenship would not be immediate. The integration process takes time....

Don't let some Left-ish or radical Catholic bishops fool ya.   Not even if the Bishop in question is in Rome, wearing a white outfit.  He ain't St. Thomas Aquinas.

LOTS more at the link.

Abp. Chaput Is Right, Again!

(This post should be read in light of the one immediately below.)

A shooting rampage late Sept. 16 that left a West Philadelphia resident and the shooter dead, plus two police officers and three civilians wounded, drew a strong response from Archbishop Charles J. Chaput.

“Combine easy access to guns with a culture that breeds resentment, self-focus, personal license and contempt for human life and the law, and what you get is what happened over the past weekend: the terrible shootings of innocent people by Nicholas Glenn and others,” Philadelphia’s archbishop said Sept. 19....

It is fair to say that the culture of which Abp. Chaput speaks is NOT a Christian culture.  And we note parenthetically that 'access to guns' is not the primary problem in his analysis.  It is the culture, here of the glorified Self (a 'strange god') which is the driver of this trainwreck.

Obozo's analysis will differ, of course.

Stopped-Clock Obozo Gets One Thing Right (!!)

On his way out the door (thank God!) Obozo managed to get one thing right.

Speaking at the UN, he said this:

...“If we are honest, we know that no external power is going to be able to force different religious communities or ethnic communities to co-exist for long,” Obama said. “Until basic questions are answered about how communities co-exist, the embers of extremism will continue to burn. Countless human beings will suffer.”...

Yup.

Obozo's Marxist point of view blinds him to the ever-more-obvious:  the only predicate to peaceful co-existence is a common culture, and as we have often said, 'cult precedes culture.'  So long as the cult of Mohammed--or Mammon--exists, the resulting culture will reflect that cult.

And there will be war, and injustice.

History-Deficient Pope Francis?

Not surprising that this cleric's silliness gets play in the National "Catholic" Reporter.

...The Vatican conference on just war theory was held April 11-13 and brought some 80 experts engaged in nonviolent struggles to Rome to discuss developing a new moral framework rejecting ethical justifications for war. At the end of the event the participants launched an appeal, bluntly stating: "There is no 'just war.'"...

Yah, right./sarcasm

But it gets worse!

...[Cdl.] Turkson said the participants of the conference asked the church to re-examine the concept of just war, first enunciated by fourth-century bishop St. Augustine, and "slightly begin to move away from that."

He said that while just war teachings were first developed to make wars difficult or impossible to justify, they are now used more as conditions that allow violence to be used.

"My understanding is that it was initially meant to make it difficult to wage war because you needed to justify it," said the cardinal. "This now has been interpreted these days as a war is just when it is exercised in self-defense … or to put off an aggressor or to protect innocent people."

Turkson continued: "In that case, Pope Francis would say: 'You don't stop an aggression by being an aggressor. You don't stop a conflict by inciting another conflict. You don't stop a war by starting another war.'"...

The Pope doesn't know about World War II?

Or--far more germane to Catholic history--the Pope doesn't know about Vienna?  Aleppo?

Methinks Cdl. Turkson needs a long retreat someplace.

The Pubbie Solution to Killer Muslim "Refugees"

As it turns out, the (R) Party actually does have a solution to the killer (Muslim) refugee problem!!

They continue to fund Obozo's treachery, of course.  That's the civilized way, old chap.  The Club rules tell them to do that, after all.  A little wine and brie with that?

The solution they have created?

Kill the killers, one at a time.  Worked in San Bernadino, St Cloud, and NYC, right?

Please, old man, don't kick about the New Reality which means that there will be a number of US-citizen casualties along the way.  That's too bad, of course.  The Republicans are sorry about that, of course.  They might even send a little wine and brie to your hospital bed, or funeral lunch.

That's the civilized way, old chap.

Still Watching Football?

We note that this "protest the USA" movement is spreading among NFL players.

Goodell, the NFL Commissioner, likes that sort of free speech.  Like the NCAA and NBA pansies and twits, he's all for some forms of free speech.  Those forms would be counter-cultural, of course.

For me and mine, the only NFL we watched this weekend was Green Bay.  That's enough.

The Corn-a-Hole People Are Lying

Aside from playing havoc with older car engines, small engines for outdoor power equipment, and the world's FOOD SUPPLY, ethanol, a product of the corn-a-hole crowd, has another problem.

It's a helluvalot more noxious than they say it is.

...US ethanol producers are likely using outdated methods to measure NOx levels, according to trade publication Ethanol Producer. The result is that production of ethanol, which as a fuel has been a source of debate over its environmental friendliness when compared to conventional gasoline, may be more harmful to the environment than previously thought.

...NO2 may account for more than 80 percent of NOx's emissions. In short, ethanol factories and the resulting NOx levels may be creating ozone and causing problems such as acid rain at a faster rate than was previously estimated....

Even more:  EPA has not filed a report on the environmental impact of biofuels for more than 5 years.

Surprised?

Priebus Embraces Pubbie Party Corpse

There's a word for loving a corpse,  Reince.  You can find it under 'psychiatric disorders.'

GOP Chairman Reince Priebus appeared on Face the Nation with a threat for Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. John Kasich, and former Gov. Jeb Bush: get on the Trump train or expect a lock-out in 2020.

"Lock-out" of what, Reince?  The Little Party That Couldn't?

Hillary Will "Shape Our Children". Wanna Bet, HRC?

Hillary doesn't want 'our children' to be "irredeemable."

...the choice in this election is about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four years of their lives...

Soaring rhetoric, or the Freudian slip?

My bet is on Door #2.  In which case Hildebeeste will need a lot more guns than the Secret Service can provide.

The "Best and Brightest"? God Help Us All

The children in this video were admitted to the most selective Jesuit college in America.

Many of them will have careers in Government, others in "law."

At least they can articulate their ignorance pretty well.

Abp. Chaput Channels John Adams (and Juvenal)

The Archbishop of Philadelphia is right.

...The archbishop concluded that today's Americans are living in "a dysfunctional culture of frustrated and wounded people increasingly incapable of permanent commitments, self-sacrifice and sustained intimacy, and unwilling to face the reality of their own problems.” A self-governing nation cannot be sustained by that sort of people, he said; the nation's future "belongs to people who believe in something beyond themselves, and who live and sacrifice accordingly."...

That's not new, of course.  Here's John Adams:

...this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world; because we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other....

It's no surprise that we have come to this in a Presidential race:

...One candidate, in the view of a lot of people, is a belligerent demagogue with an impulse-control problem. And the other, also in the view of a lot of people, is a criminal liar, uniquely rich in stale ideas and bad priorities....

I will add that both are Statists who unabashedly promise what Juvenal decried:  bread and circuses.

...Roman politicians passed laws in 140 B.C. to keep the votes of poorer citizens, by introducing a grain dole: giving out cheap food and entertainment, "bread and circuses", became the most effective way to rise to power....

375 years later, Rome was vanquished.  Think it will take that long this time?

Walker's Right on Highway Funding

Despite the whining and wailing from spend-and-tax "Republicans" in Racine County, the Governor has it right on highway funding.

Vos and Wanggard (and others) pull all the usual goblins out of the closet:

"Next year it will cost more!!!"  and

"Business will stop moving to Wisconsin!!!"

"Run, hide, we are all doomed!!!"  (Whoops.  That's for when Democrats spend and tax.  Sorry!)

Messrs Vos and Wanggard's argument about cost ignores the flattest year-over-year cost of living increases in decades and ignores the fact that overall, Wisconsin is a lot more attractive than Illinois (ask U-Line, Mr. Wanggard.)  It ain't just roads, Van.

And they also ignore the fact that Wisconsin residents are fed up with spend, spend, spend, tax, tax, tax "remedies" for non-problems.

Some Republicans forget that when you have a spending problem, you cut back on spending.  That's what normal people have to do because we can't point a gun at others and take their money.

Trump Pumps Welfare

Trump goes all Welfare Queen with his proposal to pay anyone and everyone for children.

Nice thought, I suppose, but Unlimited US Debt is the by-product.  The US can't simply declare Chapter 7 and walk away, ya'know.

But there is an elephant in the room that no one--and I mean NO ONE--is talking about.  The US definitely has a "child deficit", and this fact does not bode well for the national debt, either.

Why You're Wrong in the "Mind" of the Left

This is a good interview, wherein an ex-liberal succintly analyzes the Left's modus operandi.  While there's a lot of 'there' there, this portion is short, so it makes a good pull-quote:

(Front Page Mag)  You point to five basic reasons leftists always go to rationalize why someone would disagree with them. (p.47) Share these with our readers and what it means.

Sayet: Since the Modern Liberal’s policy on any given issue is the one that he is led to by his rejection of moral and rational thought – his indiscriminateness – anyone who takes a different position on any issue is not only “wrong,” he is evil (or, in Thomas Sowell’s words, he is “not merely in error, but in sin.”) This is because the opposite of indiscriminateness is the evil of having discriminated: the hate crime of thinking.  One might discriminate because they’re 1) stupid 2) bigoted 3) phobic 4) evil or 5) greedy, but, no matter what, the Modern Liberal has no other explanation for disagreeing with him on an issue other than one of these five things.  Sound impossible?  Take a second and try to name a single issue – even one – where one of these things isn’t what the Modern Liberal says is the motive for not supporting their policy.  You can’t.  Not one.

Sayet doesn't have much good to say about Springsteen and Lennon, either, and for good reason.

Did Paul Ryan Break a Promise ALREADY?

Here's Congressman Dave Brat talking about the upcoming budget fiasco:

"...And so me and the House Freedom Caucus guys, that’s the one thing we insisted on, when Paul Ryan rose to power. And he promised regular order, which means the budget stays in committee, and then goes on the Floor for a vote, where the American people can discipline us so we don’t get to make stuff up at the last minute.

And voila! regular order is gone again...."

Sure.  It's what politicians do.

Tim Kaine and Moderate Muslims: an Equivalence!

Courtesy of The Captain, we connect Tim Kaine with "moderate Muslims."

In the video, Bill Warner makes the point that 'Islam can NOT be changed' by 'moderate Muslims.'  In fact, 'moderate Muslims' are simply not practicing the real Muslim faith.

So when Tim Kaine tells you that he is a 'practicing Catholic' but states that the Catholic church will change its position on queer "marriage," you can draw your own conclusion.   (Hint:  the Catholic church will NOT, EVER, sanction queer "marriage."  Full stop.)

See, anyone can show up at Mass or mosque regularly, and do good works because that's what you're supposed to do.  But practicing the real faith?  That's a different question.

Let's SHOOT Lame Ducks!

Here's the short version.

Some Congress-slime will be voted out of office in November, but they'll be willing and able to screw over the citizens until the end of December.  These Congress-slime are called "lame ducks."

The entire Federal budget has yet to be passed.  That means that "lame ducks" could be jacking around with Federal spending--UNLESS Congress passes a budget which can't be jacked until January--when NEW Congress-slime will be in office.  (Yah, it's a crap-shoot.)

House conservatives are pushing for the January deal.  The others are pushing for a December deal, so they can practice up on their fraud and stealing before they become lobbyists.

Meantime, in the Senate, McConnell, Obozo, and Reid are in their usual three-way.  (The only question is whether Ron Johnson will be holding McConnell's coat).

We all know that the humane thing to do is to put a wounded animal out of its misery before it turns around and attacks.

Carry on.

Screw You, Harry Reid

Reid, whose face was mangled after a homosexual encounter unfortunate male/male disagreement, prompts another disagreement:

“We’re heading straight for another unnecessary government shutdown because I had the good fortune yesterday to spent some time along with President Obama and everyone should be alerted today to this: We are not going to agree to a long-term CR,” Reid said on a conference call last week...

You want it shut down, Harry?

Good.

So do we.

And don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out, Harry.

EPA: "Burn Coal? Just Die, Please"

Another assault on the Midwest from EPA.

Coal-burning electric utilities?  Die.

Consumers of such electricity?  Die.

And while you're dying, please send $68Bn +++.

S'pose the (R) Party will step in?  Nah.  They're too busy trying to get re-elected after doing nothing for the last 8 years.  (We're looking at you, Messrs. Ryan and Johnson)

The "Lawsuit" Solution? We Have a Better Idea!

This is the story:

...According to the bombshell lawsuit, a transgender “girl" student, who participated on girls' sports teams, “twerked,” “grinded” and engaged in other sexually suggestive acts in the girls’ locker-room, leaving some of the girls in tears. After numerous ignored complaints, the lawsuit's plaintiffs say they were allowed access to other locations, including a boys’ locker-room, which the transgender “girl” also made his way into and extended his sexually suggestive behavior. The girls claim they were left with no place to go to secure their privacy in the most intimate of settings....

IOW, the perv-problem will be fixed at bar.

We doubt it.

There's another, far better, solution, of course.  It's called the "big brother" solution.  Don't any of these girls have big brothers?  Or maybe boyfriends?

More Stupid Talk From the Stupid Party

How many times do these people have to be bashed over the head before they wake up?

Fuggedaboutit.  That's like asking 'How high is up?'

...“You have to have a culture change as a party. You have to be very comfortable being disliked by loud, disruptive, negative voices that have only one goal and that goal is to tear down the brand of the Republican Party,” Josh Holmes said this week during an interview with the Washington Examiner’s “Examining Politics” podcast…

It’s time for the conservative commentariat industry to be more responsible and focus on winning elections,” said GOP strategist Brad Todd, who advises House and Senate candidates…

“So long as some of the most powerful voices in conservative media spend more time attacking Republicans than Democrats, the Democrats will hold the White House,” a Republican strategist who has advised multiple GOP presidential candidates said....

See, the Official Pomposities are NOT AT FAULT.

It's those damned voters and their broadcast enablers.  Damn fools who think the Constitution and Western Civ are more important than Republican victories.

Feingold's and Clinton's Hide-and-Seek Butt-Buddies

Gee.  The State Department cannot produce Feingold's correspondence before the election.

(Just like they can't find Clinton's correspondence before the election.)

Can you spell C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L C-O-N-S-P-I-R-A-C-Y?

The Perversions of D.C.

One of the reasons the Tea Party arose is stuff like this:

..."The phrases 'religious liberty' and 'religious freedom' will stand for nothing except hypocrisy so long as they remain code words for discrimination, intolerance, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, Christian supremacy or any form of intolerance," Castro, a Democrat appointed by President Obama, said.

He added: "Religious liberty was never intended to give one religion dominion over other religions, or a veto power over the civil rights and civil liberties of others."...

That's the Chairman of the US Civil Rights Commission, a fellow who is apparently not burdened with logical thinking patterns, yet empowered to make life very difficult and expensive for citizens (and churches.)

Mr. Castro serves a purpose, of course.  He keeps the Tea Party spirit alive and well.

Which Way Will RoJo Vote?

Yes, Ron Johnson is in trouble, and he's in trouble against an extremely weak candidate.

Why?

Because Ron Johnson has consistently rolled over for Mitch McConnell's enabling of Obozo, that's why.  Ron Johnson has defined himself as a nice, moderate, lackey.

And he'll get another chance to show us!!

...McConnell wants a continuing resolution that funds the government until December 9, 2016. That will force a lame duck session of congress. That will allow McConnell to ram through the TPP, Judge Garland’s confirmation, and fund Obama’s agenda. That, in fact, is the little noticed part of all of this. House Republicans do not want a big fight against Obama’s budget priorities, but Senate Republicans want to fund them all. They will fund executive amnesty, they will fund Obamacare, they will fund Planned Parenthood — they will fund the whole leftwing agenda....

Watch RoJo on this one, folks.

Republican Giveaway Tricks

Apparently the Republican legislators of Wisconsin have decided that spending more is good, especially when that spending makes them look enlightened.

With Election Day approaching, state Assembly Republicans previewed their plans for 2017, calling for laptops or tablets to be issued to all high school freshmen...

The Pubbies want to make computers into a "right" for 14-year-olds.

Laptops do not increase grades.  They do not increase thinking-skills.  They are not really a substitute for books.  But this sure looks good, eh?  Pubbies are kind, and generous, just like Democrats.

Especially with someone else's money.

Help Your Neighbor, Go To Jail

So when the Cajun Navy folks sacrifice their time, their boats, and their energy to rescue others in the Baton Rouge area; when volunteers show up with meals; and when homeowners start rebuilding their properties WITHOUT THE PERMISSION of the "authorities....."

God save us from pompous blowhard "officials."

Taxpayer Relief Shot in Milwaukee

Here's the beginning of the story:

...Police say a 49-year-old man was shot during circumstances that remain under investigation.  The victim,  identified as Kevin Cowser, was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A 79-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody...

Here's the REST of the story:

The 49-year-old was attempting a home invasion.  After the 79-year-old had verbally (and very loudly) warned the invader several times, he fired his .22 rifle, fatally wounding the perp.  An accomplice is still at large.

The homeowner has been released from custody, of course.

Run a CCAP on the perp and ask yourself why he was not in prison.  That's a very good question.

"Save RoJo"? From Himself??

Wiggy is a good barometer, so it's notable that he's issuing a mournful call to arms for RoJo.  It's a mournful call because Wiggy understands why RoJo needs "saving."

In every ranking of U.S. Senate races, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson is at the top of the vulnerable incumbent list. Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia puts Johnson’s seat as a “leans” Democrat-to-Republican switch, and he’s hardly alone....

...Six years later, and there is still no separate identity for Johnson. Earlier this month, the Marquette Law School poll showed 33 percent without an opinion of Johnson, a high number considering he’s been in the public eye for six years.

That means Johnson’s 2016 race is likely to be similar to his 2010 race, controlled by forces largely beyond his control....

Not exactly, James.

See, RoJo had a chance--six years' worth of chance--to establish a 'separate identity,' which would have put the forces 'under his control.'   He failed to do that, choosing instead to knuckle under to the utterly corrupt snake, Mitch McConnell.

We remember RoJo's first year in the Senate.  He actually spoke up, kicked against his powers, and raised some Hell.

Then.........silence.

When Ted Cruz and Mike Lee took up the battle, RoJo stabbed them in the back on the budget and on ObozoCare.  Not once, but several times.

In fact, RoJo has failed, James, as your editorial implies.  Remember what we all learned with McCain, Romney, (et al):  the worst candidate loses.

UPDATE:  For more on the RoJo Syndrome (talk big, do nothing) see The Flight 93 Election)

The Propaganda of Hillary & Co.

Some UN fern-bar functionary describes Democrat/Hillary campaign techniques:

[They] use half-truths and oversimplification -- the two scalpels of the arch propagandist, and here the internet and social media are a perfect rail for them, by reducing thought into the smallest packages: sound-bites, tweets. Paint half a picture in the mind of an anxious individual, exposed as they may be to economic hardship and through the media to the horrors of terrorism. Prop this picture up by some half-truth here and there and allow the natural prejudice of people to fill in the rest. Add drama, emphasizing it’s all the fault of a clear-cut group, so the speakers lobbing this verbal artillery, and their followers, can feel somehow blameless."...

Oh, wait....

He's talking about 'nationalist populists'!!  You know them:  they're the ones who actually believe that their country and culture are worth preserving.

Clearly scumbuckets, no?

ObozoConomy Sucks!!, Part 56,963

The NeoCon Warmongers, Hillary, and the Next War

Fred sums up the Warmonger party very well:

...The standard American approach to war is to underestimate the enemy, overestimate American capacities, and misunderstand the kind of war it enters. This is particularly true when the war is a manhood ritual for masculine inadequates–think Kristol, Podhoretz, Sanders, the whole Neocon milk bar, and that mendacious wreck, Hillary, who has the military grasp of a Shetland pony. If you don’t think weak egos and perpetual adolescence have a part in deciding policy, read up on Kaiser Wilhelm....

We've seen a lot of stuff in the MSM lately about the Russkis, who--apparently--are going to re-patriate the entire Ukraine, absorb Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, set up another wall (perhaps in Poland), and take over the US elections with cyber-war, not to mention publish all of Hillary's emails in Time magazine, or something.

This from a country whose oil-wealth is evaporating, and whose native population has been aborted and/or birth-controlled to near-nothing (like Italy and Germany)?

Other than the military-industrial complex, just who benefits from war with the Russkis?

We'll wait while you come up with an answer.

The Communists: Killing Machines

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn revealed that a number of Communist agitators (from Chicago) were fanning the flames at Sherman Park a few weeks ago, just as they did in Ferguson, MO.  The local and national press buried the story.  Whether that's because the press is composed of idiots or fellow-travelers is irrelevant; but here's a bit more information that they are not likely to dispense.

...Ninety-nine years ago, Tsar Nicholas II abdicated, and, after a few months of weak parliamentary rule, the Bolsheviks seized power. We call that seizure the Russian (or October) Revolution, but it might better be designated the Bolshevik coup d’état. A party of 10,000 people gained control of an empire occupying one-sixth of the earth’s land area.

...The Bolsheviks made up for their small numbers with outsized violence...conservative estimates of executions under Lenin and Stalin—say, twenty million from 1917 to 1953—yield an average of over ten thousand per week....

And that's only the beginning; Mao and Pol Pot were next.  Pol Pot murdered 25% of the population of Cambodia and he was a small-time Commie.

You can look to Maduro's Venezuela for the next chapter; the Obama Administration will not interfere if Maduro decides to liquidate the peasants who are now starving due to his Communist policies.

And you won't hear the word "Communist" to describe Maduro, either.

Gotta Hand It To the ChiComs

Love this:

The Chinese government found a new way to express its contempt for Barack Obama and the United States yesterday. The authorities snubbed Obama upon his arrival in Hangzhou before the start of the G20 conference. According to the Guardian: “[Obama] was forced to disembark from Air Force One through a little-used exit in the plane’s belly after no rolling staircase was provided when he landed in the eastern Chinese city on Saturday afternoon.”...

Finally getting what he really deserves.

UPDATE:  Owen is unhappy with the ChiComs over this.  Frankly, I cannot think of a President who deserves a slap in the face more than Obozo.  So we'll mildly disagree.

Thomas Jefferson and the Muslims

There IS a reason that the Marine Hymn refers to "the shores of Tripoli."  For those of you who are still dope-smoking twinks
holding that Islam is "the religion of peace," read on.
...At the height of the 18th century, Muslim pirates (the "Barbary Pirates") were the terror of the Mediterranean and a large area of the North Atlantic. They attacked every ship in sight and held the crews for exorbitant ransoms. Those taken hostage were subjected to barbaric treatment and wrote heart-breaking letters home, begging their government and family members to pay whatever their Mohammedan captors demanded.

These extortionists of the high seas represented the North African Islamic nations of Tripoli, Tunis, Morocco, and Algiers - collectively referred to as the Barbary Coast - and presented a dangerous and unprovoked threat to the new American Republic...

...In 1786, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams met with Tripoli's ambassador to Great Britain to ask by what right his nation attacked American ships and enslaved American citizens, and why Muslims held so much hostility towards America, a nation with which they had no previous contacts.

The two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that Islam "was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran that all nations who would not acknowledge their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise."
...

Sounds familiar, no?

From ONE American President, there was a reaction.

...Jefferson, until now, had been against America raising a naval force for anything beyond coastal defense, but, having watched his nation be cowed by Islamic thuggery for long enough, decided that it was finally time to meet force with force.

He dispatched a squadron of frigates to the Mediterranean and taught the Muslim nations of the Barbary Coast a lesson he hoped they would never forget....he formed what is the now the Marines (sea going soldiers). These Marines were attached to U. S. Merchant vessels. When the Muslims attacked U.S. merchant vessels, they were repulsed by armed soldiers, but there is more.

The Marines followed the Muslims back to their villages and killed every man, woman, and child in the village. It didn't take long for the Muslims to leave U.S. Merchant vessels alone.

That worked.

Prior to this, the practice was to pay ransom to the Muslims, a practice re-instituted by Barakh Hussein Obama.  Which of his successors will emulate Thomas Jefferson?

Ayn Rand Describes 2016 America

As you know, I have little use for Ayn Rand.

But she is not devoid of sharp commentary and was prophetic, at least once:

"You may know society is doomed when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors; when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you; [and] when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice." -Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged", 1957

In Our Dreams.....

A biologist has warned that unless we stop warming the globe, about half the forms of life on Earth will be extinct in 30 years or so.

In our dreams that half would be Progressive Democrats.
