Un-Patriotic? Or Tit-for-Tat?

Waxman, imitating the warmongers:

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), who has had an eventful couple of weeks to say the least, believes House Republican opposition to climate change legislation and the stimulus indicates they’re cheering against the good ol’ US of A.

“It appears that the Republican Party leadership in the Congress has made a decision that they want to deny President Obama success, which means, in my mind, they are rooting against the country, as well,” the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee chairman told WAMU radio host Diane Rehm on Tuesday morning, promoting his new book, “The Waxman Report.”

About 6 years ago, the "unpatriotic" line was used by the War Party to disparage the Lefties who questioned the Iraq adventure. While I grant that war is not the same as AlGore-ism, or Porkulus-ism, this stuff is getting out of hand.

There's nothing wrong with questioning the Iraq invasion's premises, nor its end-game planning, just as there was nothing wrong with questioning the Vietnam War's premises (which were pretty damn crappy.)

And there is nothing wrong with questioning the premise--Global Warming--behind the money-and-bubble-manufacturing "Cap-n-Tax" scheme, a risky scheme if there ever was one. Same with Porkulus.

Get off that BS.
