I knew from the minute I met Tim Dolan that he was sent here for a purpose and would be upwardly mobile. <br /><br />I told Dolan then he would probably do best to emulate Archbishop Cousins (except for the blind eye to clergy abuse). Cousins was not a flaming liberal but also didn't stand in the way of Vatican II reforms. Some folks felt Dolan was too far right and others thought not far enough so for the most part he was just fine.
